BEarth Day!

Posted on Apr 22 , 2011 in Mavis Says

As a wee babe, I was fortunate to have been born on what we now recognize as Earth Day, April 22nd. Which is probably why I  have the innate quirk of tearing napkins and paper towels in half and sharing with my sweetheart to conserve when dining or when I’ve neglected to do laundry.  I thought it was important to post about this plot of land we all live on and are mostly trying to preserve.

I’m not going to preach, or offer tips, just inspiration from a design website Oh Joy! that brightens my days. No excuse for not eating your veggies.

Swedish Fish Rock! HumpDay Antics

Posted on Apr 06 , 2011 in Mavis Says

Swedish Fish beloved from my childhood. Visiting the candy store with my Grandma Millie who declared herself the Queen of Sweden, and I believed her. Swedish Fish rock because they are bright, fun, and graphic in a simple shape that is iconic! Not to mention a tasty, fat-free treat. I’ll never turn one down. Send freely.

Amazing! A Swedish Fish Martini from one of my all time favorite old haunts Rays Boathouse in Seattle.

And a glorious finish with Abba, just because it made me laugh out loud when I saw this picture.
